Step 1Print out the template provided and cut around the solid black lines. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Fold your A4 cover paper in half and align the arch template so the flat edge is along the crease of the cover paper. Use your template as a guide to cut out the piece from the cover paper. Don’t forget to cut along the dotted lines too! Repeat this step with a different colour of cover paper to create a second arch. Use the rectangle template to cut out a handle for your bag from cover paper.
Step 3The arch template is labelled to make the weaving process easier. Copy these labels onto your coloured cover paper arches with a pencil so you can erase the marks later. Label one arch A and the other B.
Step 4Make sure both of your coloured arches are kept folded in half. Weave tab B1 through the middle of A3, then tab A2 through the middle of B1, then B1 through the middle of A1. Slide arch B up the slits of arch A, to give you enough room to continue weaving.

Step 5Weave tab A3 through B2, B2 through A2 then A1 through B2.
Step 6Weave tab B3 through A3, A2 though B3 then B3 through A1. You can now erase any pencil marks you made.
Step 7Glue each end of the handle piece to the inside of your bag. Allow the glue to dry.
Step 8You’re now ready to fill your Woven Heart Gift Bag with goodies and gift to someone special!
