Step 1Download and print the provided sloth template. We recommend using cover paper for this activity as it will provide a sturdier surface for construction.
Step 2Decorate your sloth using markers or pencils.
Step 3Cut out the template along the solid grey lines. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 4Turn your sloth over so that the decorated side is facing down. To create a tube for the string to be threaded through, align a pencil along the long straight edge of one of the tabs at the top of the template. Start to roll the paper tab around the pencil.
Step 5Once the sloth’s arm starts to appear, secure the paper in place with sticky tape. Repeat this process with the other tab.
Step 6Cut a length of yarn measuring approximately 2.5m long. Thread one end of the yarn through the tube on the right arm and the other end through the tube on the left arm. Thread a bead onto each end of the yarn and tie a double knot to secure each bead in place. Repeat this process with the other side.
Wrap a piece of sticky tape around the end of the yarn, like a shoelace tip, for easier threading.
Step 7Hang the top loop of yarn over a hook on the wall or a door handle. Take a bead in each hand and pull each side one at a time to watch your Sloth climb!
