Step 1Download and print the templates provided onto white cardboard. Decorate using markers, gold glitter and glue. Allow to dry. Cut around the outline of your templates. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
Step 2Cut 4m each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple yarn.
Step 3Tie one end of the red yarn around the left side of the wreath. Begin wrapping the yarn around the wreath, pulling the yarn tightly and making sure the decofoam is covered with no gaps. When you get towards the end of the red yarn, leave a small length unwrapped.
Step 4Tie the end of the red yarn to one end of the orange yarn. Wrap the orange yarn around the wreath next to the red. Continue wrapping the rest of the yarn colours in the order of the rainbow to cover the top half of the wreath. You can use our image as a guide. Once you have finished wrapping the purple yarn, tie the end to the wreath to secure. Trim any excess yarn.
Step 5Unroll 10-12 cotton balls so they become long and flat. Apply glue to the front, bottom part of the wreath and place a cotton piece over the glue. Press lightly to ensure it adheres to the wreath. Continue adding the cotton pieces until the bottom half of the wreath is covered. Allow to dry.
Step 6Glue your decorated cardboard templates to either side of the wreath. Allow to dry.
Step 7You may like to use a length of yarn to create a hanger. Your St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Wreath is now ready to display!
