Step 1Rip 1/4 of a sheet of tissue paper into small 1-2cm pieces. Use a paint brush to apply glue to the bottom half of your Egg Money Box and cover with the tissue paper pieces overlapping as you go. Paint over any bumps with glue. Allow to dry. Alternatively, you could use the Ceramic & Terracotta Markers to colour the bottom half in a solid colour or even create an Irish inspired design, such as shamrocks!
Step 2Draw some circles using a yellow ceramic marker around the top section of your Egg Money Box and colour them in. Block in any spaces with the black ceramic marker.
Step 3Use a brush to apply a thin outline of glue around the circles and sprinkle gold glitter over the top. Shake off any excess onto scrap paper and return the excess back to the container to use for future craft projects. Allow to dry.
Step 4Twist two black chenille stems around each other. Repeat two more times to create three twisted chenille stems. Gather the three together and twist them at the top to secure together. Create a braid by taking the left stem and wrapping it over the middle, then take the right and wrap it over the middle. Continue this pattern until all the stems are braided together. Twist the ends to hold in place. Repeat this step so you have two braided stems.
Step 5Cut a single chenille stem in half. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Wrap one half around the ends of one of your braided stems from step 4. Apply glue along the length of your braided stem and wrap around the middle of the money box to cover where the coins and tissue paper meet. Joins the ends together by twisting the single stem around the ends of your braided stem. Use pressure to help the chenille stems stick to the money box. Repeat this step to add a chenille rim around the bottom of the money box. Allow to dry.
Step 6Add some green shamrocks to the bottom of your money box using paint. Simply paint four small circles clustered together and add a small stem. Allow to dry. Your St Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold Money Box is now ready to use!
